  1. Name, job title and length of time working for TWMA

My name is Ryan Bowron, I am the Group Projects & Asset Manager and have been with TWMA for 11 years.

  2. What is your background/career history prior to joining TWMA?

I started in the oil and gas industry as an Apprentice CNC Machinist for GE Vetco Gray, before moving into a Manufacturing Engineer role. I then progressed into my first Project Management role with Cameron Drilling, managing the recertification and re-deployment of Capital Drilling Equipment.

Now, I work with TWMA as a Group Projects & Asset Manager. In this role, I manage specific projects delivering Waste Management solutions around the world, including the UK, USA, Norway, Africa and the Middle East. Throughout the last 11 years, I have continued my development, beginning as a Project Engineer and working my way up to management roles to where I am now.

  3. What are your key responsibilities at TWMA?

I oversee the successful delivery of global projects for TWMA, ensuring the solution we have designed for our clients is delivered safely, on time and on budget.

In parallel, I ensure we optimise the TWMA asset fleet with strategic deployment planning whilst also managing the manufacture of new assets to meet the growing demand around the world.

  4. Tell me what it’s like to work for TWMA in the UK.

TWMA provides an environment focused on technology innovation, sustainability and trusted service delivery to our clients. The company values professional development and has provided opportunities for me to work on challenging projects globally, where collaboration and strategic thinking have been key.
Being part of a company that values and invests in its employees, is highly rewarding and has helped shape my professional growth so far. It involves working on a variety of projects across different locations, each presenting unique challenges throughout the process.

  5. What makes TWMA stand out against other employers and competitors?

What truly sets TWMA apart from other employers and competitors is our exceptional combination of people and technology. As specialists in our field, we leverage cutting-edge technology and highly skilled, dedicated teams to deliver industry-leading solutions. Our commitment to innovation has made us pioneers in the adoption of offshore processing as the preferred strategy for international operators. This unique approach not only distinguishes us in the market but also allows us to provide a level of experience and expertise that far surpasses our competitors.

  6. How do you ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards in your asset management practices?

We have developed a robust Asset Management process which ensures our technology is delivered worldwide meeting any technical, legal and regulatory requirements. We appraise each project and ensure we apply consistent quality control with a stage gate approach, ensuring full compliance for our clients no matter where we operate.

  7. Can you share a fun fact about yourself or a secret talent?

I fill most of the spare time I have coaching my seven-year-old daughter and ten-year-old son’s football teams in Stonehaven. Managing kids football is more challenging than any project or client I have had to deal with at TWMA!

  8. What has been your top highlight during your 11 years at TWMA?

Overseeing the successful design, development and manufacture of RotoMill 2.0 has been a key highlight in my career at TWMA. We have taken our technology to the next level and delivered a new asset to meet our clients’ needs. This project has already benchmarked the next stage of asset development with more to follow as the demand for our technology increases.
