Specialist drilling waste management company, TWMA, has been shortlisted in the Net Zero category at this year’s SPE Offshore Achievement Awards.

The company has been named as a finalist for the Net Zero award in recognition of its offshore processing solution which reduces the carbon footprint of its customers’ operations by up to 50%.

TWMA’s flagship TCC RotoMill® can be deployed offshore at the rig site allowing operators and rig contractors to treat drill cuttings at source. This approach eliminates the carbon footprint normally associated with shipping thousands of tonnes of material on vessels and trucks to onshore processing plants.

Gareth Innes, chief engineering and commercial officer at TWMA, said: “We are pleased that our low carbon drilling waste solutions have been recognised with this prestigious award nomination. With net zero emissions at the fore across the industry, we are having more conversations with operators and well contractors looking for a sustainable drilling waste management solution for their operation.

“More than half of the current drilling projects in the UK North Sea are now utilising our TCC RotoMill technology as customers move away from traditional more expensive and carbon intensive ship to shore methods. We are pleased to be driving this change across the industry and are proud to deliver solutions that contribute towards the industry’s target of net zero emissions.”

Now in its 35th year, the Offshore Achievement Awards is the largest and longest established industry awards for the UK offshore energy sector. Winners will be announced at a prestigious awards ceremony on Thursday 17 March 2022 in Aberdeen.
