Specialist drilling waste management company TWMA has secured the American Petroleum Institute (API) Q2 accreditation for its UAE operation, the first quality management system (QMS) certification for service suppliers in the oil and gas industry.
The standard certifies oil and gas equipment service providers for the safety, consistency and interchangeability of their products and services as well as asset management and business integrity.
TWMA spent 18 months working towards achieving the advanced industry accreditation, with a team of employees dedicated to ensuring the company had all appropriate systems and procedures in place to meet all necessary standards.
Simon Tyldsley, UAE Director at TWMA said; “This is a significant achievement for our UAE operation, and I am incredibly proud of the team who have worked hard to secure this prestigious certification. The standard demonstrates TWMA’s commitment to providing the highest level of compliance and recognises our ongoing dedication towards flawless service delivery to our customers.”
As part of the certification, API will audit TWMA’s facilities annually, ensuring sustainable, continuous improvement of service quality and all applicable regulatory compliance.
The achievement comes as the company marked a significant safety milestone, reaching four million man-hours lost time incident (LTI) free in the UAE. This was achieved across six projects for a major operator within the region over an eight-year period.
TWMA has developed a dedicated Stay Safe Programme which guides employees towards incident free operations. The initiative empowers all members of the team to intervene whenever they see an unsafe act and has significantly contributed to the company’s strong safety culture.
Halle Aslaksen, Chief Executive Officer at TWMA, said: “As we continue to grow our business in the UAE it is vital that we can demonstrate best practices to the industry and a priority of safe working environments. I am very proud of the team as these key milestones demonstrate not only our continued dedication to the safety and integrity of our workforce but certify our continued delivery of the highest level of standard for our customers.”
